The need for speed applies in all aspects of IT including online systems, storage, data bases, networks and even I/O. A job is either executing (running) or waiting to execute (not running). And most packaged applications are not heavy CPU Users so the biggest area that contributes to waiting is in fact I/O. This webinar (2nd in a series) will examine tuning opportunities to speed up I/O as well as ways to simply avoid doing it. Urban legend says that “no I/O is a good I/O”. There are significant gains to be made by spending the time needed to speed up I/O as well finding ways to eliminate where it is feasible. The reward for those efforts can be seen in performance of key applications.
